Uncontrolled Recursion in pdfinfo, and pdftops in poppler 0.89.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted input.
CVE-2022-37050 2 Debian, Freedesktop 2 Debian Linux, Poppler 2023-12-08 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
In Poppler 22.07.0, PDFDoc::savePageAs in PDFDoc.c callows attackers to cause a denial-of-service (application crashes with SIGABRT) by crafting a PDF file in which the xref data structure is mishandled in getCatalog processing. Note that this vulnerability is caused by the incomplete patch of CVE-2018-20662.
CVE-2022-37051 2 Debian, Freedesktop 2 Debian Linux, Poppler 2023-12-08 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in Poppler 22.07.0. There is a reachable abort which leads to denial of service because the main function in pdfunite.cc lacks a stream check before saving an embedded file.
CVE-2023-1380 5 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 2 more 14 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 11 more 2023-12-08 N/A 7.1 HIGH

Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability can also be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L).
CVE-2016-6794 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 14 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 11 more 2023-12-08 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
When a SecurityManager is configured, a web application's ability to read system properties should be controlled by the SecurityManager. In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70, 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 the system property replacement feature for configuration files could be used by a malicious web application to bypass the SecurityManager and read system properties that should not be visible.
CVE-2018-8037 2 Apache, Debian 2 Tomcat, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 4.3 MEDIUM 5.9 MEDIUM
If an async request was completed by the application at the same time as the container triggered the async timeout, a race condition existed that could result in a user seeing a response intended for a different user. An additional issue was present in the NIO and NIO2 connectors that did not correctly track the closure of the connection when an async request was completed by the application and timed out by the container at the same time. This could also result in a user seeing a response intended for another user. Versions Affected: Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M9 to 9.0.9 and 8.5.5 to 8.5.31.
CVE-2016-0762 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more 2023-12-08 4.3 MEDIUM 5.9 MEDIUM
The Realm implementations in Apache Tomcat versions 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70 and 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 did not process the supplied password if the supplied user name did not exist. This made a timing attack possible to determine valid user names. Note that the default configuration includes the LockOutRealm which makes exploitation of this vulnerability harder.
CVE-2016-0714 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 6.5 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
The session-persistence implementation in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 mishandles session attributes, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and execute arbitrary code in a privileged context via a web application that places a crafted object in a session.
CVE-2018-1304 5 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 2 more 11 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 8 more 2023-12-08 4.3 MEDIUM 5.9 MEDIUM
The URL pattern of "" (the empty string) which exactly maps to the context root was not correctly handled in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 when used as part of a security constraint definition. This caused the constraint to be ignored. It was, therefore, possible for unauthorised users to gain access to web application resources that should have been protected. Only security constraints with a URL pattern of the empty string were affected.
CVE-2016-6797 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 14 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 11 more 2023-12-08 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
The ResourceLinkFactory implementation in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70 and 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 did not limit web application access to global JNDI resources to those resources explicitly linked to the web application. Therefore, it was possible for a web application to access any global JNDI resource whether an explicit ResourceLink had been configured or not.
CVE-2015-5345 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
The Mapper component in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.30, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 processes redirects before considering security constraints and Filters, which allows remote attackers to determine the existence of a directory via a URL that lacks a trailing / (slash) character.
CVE-2016-0763 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 6.5 MEDIUM 6.3 MEDIUM
The setGlobalContext method in org/apache/naming/factory/ResourceLinkFactory.java in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M3 does not consider whether ResourceLinkFactory.setGlobalContext callers are authorized, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and read or write to arbitrary application data, or cause a denial of service (application disruption), via a web application that sets a crafted global context.
CVE-2018-11784 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more 2023-12-08 4.3 MEDIUM 4.3 MEDIUM
When the default servlet in Apache Tomcat versions 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.11, 8.5.0 to 8.5.33 and 7.0.23 to 7.0.90 returned a redirect to a directory (e.g. redirecting to '/foo/' when the user requested '/foo') a specially crafted URL could be used to cause the redirect to be generated to any URI of the attackers choice.
CVE-2016-3092 4 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 1 more 6 Commons Fileupload, Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux and 3 more 2023-12-08 7.8 HIGH 7.5 HIGH
The MultipartStream class in Apache Commons Fileupload before 1.3.2, as used in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.70, 8.x before 8.0.36, 8.5.x before 8.5.3, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M7 and other products, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a long boundary string.
CVE-2015-5351 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 6.8 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
The (1) Manager and (2) Host Manager applications in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 establish sessions and send CSRF tokens for arbitrary new requests, which allows remote attackers to bypass a CSRF protection mechanism by using a token.
CVE-2015-5346 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2023-12-08 6.8 MEDIUM 8.1 HIGH
Session fixation vulnerability in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.66, 8.x before 8.0.30, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2, when different session settings are used for deployments of multiple versions of the same web application, might allow remote attackers to hijack web sessions by leveraging use of a requestedSessionSSL field for an unintended request, related to CoyoteAdapter.java and Request.java.
CVE-2016-5018 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more 2023-12-08 6.4 MEDIUM 9.1 CRITICAL

CVE-2016-6796 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more 2023-12-08 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
A malicious web application running on Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70 and 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 was able to bypass a configured SecurityManager via manipulation of the configuration parameters for the JSP Servlet.
CVE-2018-8014 5 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 2 more 9 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 6 more 2023-12-08 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
The defaults settings for the CORS filter provided in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.8, 8.5.0 to 8.5.31, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.52, 7.0.41 to 7.0.88 are insecure and enable 'supportsCredentials' for all origins. It is expected that users of the CORS filter will have configured it appropriately for their environment rather than using it in the default configuration. Therefore, it is expected that most users will not be impacted by this issue.
