Off-by-one vulnerability in CPIA driver of Linux kernel before 2.2.19 allows users to modify kernel memory.
CVE-2022-2639 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-02-02 N/A 7.8 HIGH
An integer coercion error was found in the openvswitch kernel module. Given a sufficiently large number of actions, while copying and reserving memory for a new action of a new flow, the reserve_sfa_size() function does not return -EMSGSIZE as expected, potentially leading to an out-of-bounds write access. This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system.
CVE-2023-6857 5 Apple, Debian, Google and 2 more 7 Macos, Debian Linux, Android and 4 more 2024-02-02 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
When resolving a symlink, a race may occur where the buffer passed to `readlink` may actually be smaller than necessary. *This bug only affects Firefox on Unix-based operating systems (Android, Linux, MacOS). Windows is unaffected.* This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR < 115.6, Thunderbird < 115.6, and Firefox < 121.
CVE-2005-3623 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-02-02 5.0 MEDIUM N/A
nfs2acl.c in the Linux kernel 2.6.14.4 does not check for MAY_SATTR privilege before setting access controls (ACL) on files on exported NFS filesystems, which allows remote attackers to bypass ACLs for readonly mounted NFS filesystems.
CVE-2021-3714 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-02-01 N/A 5.9 MEDIUM
A flaw was found in the Linux kernels memory deduplication mechanism. Previous work has shown that memory deduplication can be attacked via a local exploitation mechanism. The same technique can be used if an attacker can upload page sized files and detect the change in access time from a networked service to determine if the page has been merged.
CVE-2023-6931 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-02-01 N/A 7.0 HIGH
A heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Performance Events system component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation. A perf_event's read_size can overflow, leading to an heap out-of-bounds increment or write in perf_read_group(). We recommend upgrading past commit 382c27f4ed28f803b1f1473ac2d8db0afc795a1b.
CVE-2023-31248 4 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 1 more 2024-02-01 N/A 7.8 HIGH
Linux Kernel nftables Use-After-Free Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability; `nft_chain_lookup_byid()` failed to check whether a chain was active and CAP_NET_ADMIN is in any user or network namespace
CVE-2023-27559 3 Ibm, Linux, Microsoft 3 Db2, Linux Kernel, Windows 2024-02-01 N/A 7.5 HIGH
IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows (includes Db2 Connect Server) 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 is vulnerable to a denial of service as the server may crash when using a specially crafted subquery. IBM X-Force ID: 249196.
CVE-2013-4587 2 Linux, Opensuse 2 Linux Kernel, Opensuse 2024-02-01 7.2 HIGH N/A
Array index error in the kvm_vm_ioctl_create_vcpu function in virt/kvm/kvm_main.c in the KVM subsystem in the Linux kernel through 3.12.5 allows local users to gain privileges via a large id value.
CVE-2023-2007 3 Debian, Linux, Netapp 13 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, H300s and 10 more 2024-02-01 N/A 7.8 HIGH
The specific flaw exists within the DPT I2O Controller driver. The issue results from the lack of proper locking when performing operations on an object. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel.
CVE-2023-2124 3 Debian, Linux, Netapp 12 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, H300s and 9 more 2024-02-01 N/A 7.8 HIGH
An out-of-bounds memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s XFS file system in how a user restores an XFS image after failure (with a dirty log journal). This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system.
CVE-2023-2269 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 1 more 13 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 10 more 2024-02-01 N/A 4.4 MEDIUM
A denial of service problem was found, due to a possible recursive locking scenario, resulting in a deadlock in table_clear in drivers/md/dm-ioctl.c in the Linux Kernel Device Mapper-Multipathing sub-component.
CVE-2023-2898 3 Debian, Linux, Netapp 12 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, H300s and 9 more 2024-02-01 N/A 4.7 MEDIUM
There is a null-pointer-dereference flaw found in f2fs_write_end_io in fs/f2fs/data.c in the Linux kernel. This flaw allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service problem.
CVE-2020-12659 2 Linux, Netapp 8 Linux Kernel, Active Iq Unified Manager, Aff Baseboard Management Controller and 5 more 2024-02-01 7.2 HIGH 6.7 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.6.7. xdp_umem_reg in net/xdp/xdp_umem.c has an out-of-bounds write (by a user with the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability) because of a lack of headroom validation.
CVE-2024-23307 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-01-31 N/A 7.8 HIGH

CVE-2022-24769 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 2 more 5 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 2 more 2024-01-31 4.6 MEDIUM 5.9 MEDIUM
Moby is an open-source project created by Docker to enable and accelerate software containerization. A bug was found in Moby (Docker Engine) prior to version 20.10.14 where containers were incorrectly started with non-empty inheritable Linux process capabilities, creating an atypical Linux environment and enabling programs with inheritable file capabilities to elevate those capabilities to the permitted set during `execve(2)`. Normally, when executable programs have specified permitted file capabilities, otherwise unprivileged users and processes can execute those programs and gain the specified file capabilities up to the bounding set. Due to this bug, containers which included executable programs with inheritable file capabilities allowed otherwise unprivileged users and processes to additionally gain these inheritable file capabilities up to the container's bounding set. Containers which use Linux users and groups to perform privilege separation inside the container are most directly impacted. This bug did not affect the container security sandbox as the inheritable set never contained more capabilities than were included in the container's bounding set. This bug has been fixed in Moby (Docker Engine) 20.10.14. Running containers should be stopped, deleted, and recreated for the inheritable capabilities to be reset. This fix changes Moby (Docker Engine) behavior such that containers are started with a more typical Linux environment. As a workaround, the entry point of a container can be modified to use a utility like `capsh(1)` to drop inheritable capabilities prior to the primary process starting.
