CVE-2024-39501 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers: core: synchronize really_probe() and dev_uevent() Synchronize the dev->driver usage in really_probe() and dev_uevent(). These can run in different threads, what can result in the following race condition for dev->driver uninitialization: Thread #1: ========== really_probe() { ... probe_failed: ... device_unbind_cleanup(dev) { ... dev->driver = NULL; // <= Failed probe sets dev->driver to NULL ... } ... } Thread #2: ========== dev_uevent() { ... if (dev->driver) // If dev->driver is NULLed from really_probe() from here on, // after above check, the system crashes add_uevent_var(env, "DRIVER=%s", dev->driver->name); ... } really_probe() holds the lock, already. So nothing needs to be done there. dev_uevent() is called with lock held, often, too. But not always. What implies that we can't add any locking in dev_uevent() itself. So fix this race by adding the lock to the non-protected path. This is the path where above race is observed: dev_uevent+0x235/0x380 uevent_show+0x10c/0x1f0 <= Add lock here dev_attr_show+0x3a/0xa0 sysfs_kf_seq_show+0x17c/0x250 kernfs_seq_show+0x7c/0x90 seq_read_iter+0x2d7/0x940 kernfs_fop_read_iter+0xc6/0x310 vfs_read+0x5bc/0x6b0 ksys_read+0xeb/0x1b0 __x64_sys_read+0x42/0x50 x64_sys_call+0x27ad/0x2d30 do_syscall_64+0xcd/0x1d0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f Similar cases are reported by syzkaller in https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=ffa8143439596313a85a But these are regarding the *initialization* of dev->driver dev->driver = drv; As this switches dev->driver to non-NULL these reports can be considered to be false-positives (which should be "fixed" by this commit, as well, though). The same issue was reported and tried to be fixed back in 2015 in https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/1421259054-2574-1-git-send-email-a.sangwan@samsung.com/ already.
CVE-2024-40919 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bnxt_en: Adjust logging of firmware messages in case of released token in __hwrm_send() In case of token is released due to token->state == BNXT_HWRM_DEFERRED, released token (set to NULL) is used in log messages. This issue is expected to be prevented by HWRM_ERR_CODE_PF_UNAVAILABLE error code. But this error code is returned by recent firmware. So some firmware may not return it. This may lead to NULL pointer dereference. Adjust this issue by adding token pointer check. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/tcp_ao: Don't leak ao_info on error-path It seems I introduced it together with TCP_AO_CMDF_AO_REQUIRED, on version 5 [1] of TCP-AO patches. Quite frustrative that having all these selftests that I've written, running kmemtest & kcov was always in todo. [1]: https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/20230215183335.800122-5-dima@arista.com/

CVE-2024-40975 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: x86-android-tablets: Unregister devices in reverse order Not all subsystems support a device getting removed while there are still consumers of the device with a reference to the device. One example of this is the regulator subsystem. If a regulator gets unregistered while there are still drivers holding a reference a WARN() at drivers/regulator/core.c:5829 triggers, e.g.: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 1587 at drivers/regulator/core.c:5829 regulator_unregister Hardware name: Intel Corp. VALLEYVIEW C0 PLATFORM/BYT-T FFD8, BIOS BLADE_21.X64.0005.R00.1504101516 FFD8_X64_R_2015_04_10_1516 04/10/2015 RIP: 0010:regulator_unregister Call Trace: <TASK> regulator_unregister devres_release_group i2c_device_remove device_release_driver_internal bus_remove_device device_del device_unregister x86_android_tablet_remove On the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 series the bq24190 charger chip also provides a 5V boost converter output for powering USB devices connected to the micro USB port, the bq24190-charger driver exports this as a Vbus regulator. On the 830 (8") and 1050 ("10") models this regulator is controlled by a platform_device and x86_android_tablet_remove() removes platform_device-s before i2c_clients so the consumer gets removed first. But on the 1380 (13") model there is a lc824206xa micro-USB switch connected over I2C and the extcon driver for that controls the regulator. The bq24190 i2c-client *must* be registered first, because that creates the regulator with the lc824206xa listed as its consumer. If the regulator has not been registered yet the lc824206xa driver will end up getting a dummy regulator. Since in this case both the regulator provider and consumer are I2C devices, the only way to ensure that the consumer is unregistered first is to unregister the I2C devices in reverse order of in which they were created. For consistency and to avoid similar problems in the future change x86_android_tablet_remove() to unregister all device types in reverse order.
CVE-2024-39509 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: core: remove unnecessary WARN_ON() in implement() Syzkaller hit a warning [1] in a call to implement() when trying to write a value into a field of smaller size in an output report. Since implement() already has a warn message printed out with the help of hid_warn() and value in question gets trimmed with: ... value &= m; ... WARN_ON may be considered superfluous. Remove it to suppress future syzkaller triggers. CVE-2024-40963 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mips: bmips: BCM6358: make sure CBR is correctly set It was discovered that some device have CBR address set to 0 causing kernel panic when arch_sync_dma_for_cpu_all is called. This was notice in situation where the system is booted from TP1 and BMIPS_GET_CBR() returns 0 instead of a valid address and !!(read_c0_brcm_cmt_local() & (1 << 31)); not failing. The current check whether RAC flush should be disabled or not are not enough hence lets check if CBR is a valid address or not.

This issue is caused by issuing a restore command when the daemon is still alive, which results in a request being processed multiple times thus triggering a UAF. So to avoid this problem, add an additional reference count to cachefiles_req, which is held while waiting and reading, and then released when the waiting and reading is over. Note that since there is only one reference count for waiting, we need to avoid the same request being completed multiple times, so we can only complete the request if it is successfully removed from the xarray.

CVE-2024-39909 2024-07-12 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
KubeClarity is a tool for detection and management of Software Bill Of Materials (SBOM) and vulnerabilities of container images and filesystems. A time/boolean SQL Injection is present in the following resource `/api/applicationResources` via the following parameter `packageID`. As it can be seen in backend/pkg/database/id_view.go, while building the SQL Query the `fmt.Sprintf` function is used to build the query string without the input having first been subjected to any validation. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.23.1.

In any case, the best approach for preventing these lockups and to avoid spamming the log with thousands of error messages per second is to ratelimit the two dev_err() calls. Therefore we replace them with dev_err_ratelimited().
CVE-2024-36522 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
The default configuration of XSLTResourceStream.java is vulnerable to remote code execution via XSLT injection when processing input from an untrusted source without validation. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 10.1.0, 9.18.0 or 8.16.0, which fix this issue.
CVE-2024-40931 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: ensure snd_una is properly initialized on connect This is strictly related to commit fb7a0d334894 ("mptcp: ensure snd_nxt is properly initialized on connect"). It turns out that syzkaller can trigger the retransmit after fallback and before processing any other incoming packet - so that snd_una is still left uninitialized. Address the issue explicitly initializing snd_una together with snd_nxt and write_seq.
CVE-2024-40992 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix responder length checking for UD request packets According to the IBA specification: If a UD request packet is detected with an invalid length, the request shall be an invalid request and it shall be silently dropped by the responder. The responder then waits for a new request packet. commit 689c5421bfe0 ("RDMA/rxe: Fix incorrect responder length checking") defers responder length check for UD QPs in function `copy_data`. But it introduces a regression issue for UD QPs. When the packet size is too large to fit in the receive buffer. `copy_data` will return error code -EINVAL. Then `send_data_in` will return RESPST_ERR_MALFORMED_WQE. UD QP will transfer into ERROR state.
CVE-2024-40908 2024-07-12 N/A N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Set run context for rawtp test_run callback syzbot reported crash when rawtp program executed through the test_run interface calls bpf_get_attach_cookie helper or any other helper that touches task->bpf_ctx pointer. Setting the run context (task->bpf_ctx pointer) for test_run callback.
