CVE-2024-28870 | 2024-04-04 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine developed by the OISF and the Suricata community. When parsing an overly long SSH banner, Suricata can use excessive CPU resources, as well as cause excessive logging volume in alert records. This issue has been patched in versions 6.0.17 and 7.0.4.
CVE-2011-0419 | 9 Apache, Apple, Debian and 6 more | 10 Http Server, Portable Runtime, Mac Os X and 7 more | 2024-04-02 | 4.3 MEDIUM | N/A |
Stack consumption vulnerability in the fnmatch implementation in apr_fnmatch.c in the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) library before 1.4.3 and the Apache HTTP Server before 2.2.18, and in fnmatch.c in libc in NetBSD 5.1, OpenBSD 4.8, FreeBSD, Apple Mac OS X 10.6, Oracle Solaris 10, and Android, allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory consumption) via *? sequences in the first argument, as demonstrated by attacks against mod_autoindex in httpd.
CVE-2024-29086 | 2024-04-02 | N/A | 3.3 LOW
in OpenHarmony v3.2.4 and prior versions allow a local attacker cause DOS through stack overflow.
CVE-2023-38039 | 3 Fedoraproject, Haxx, Microsoft | 10 Fedora, Curl, Windows 10 1809 and 7 more | 2024-04-01 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
When curl retrieves an HTTP response, it stores the incoming headers so that they can be accessed later via the libcurl headers API. However, curl did not have a limit in how many or how large headers it would accept in a response, allowing a malicious server to stream an endless series of headers and eventually cause curl to run out of heap memory.
CVE-2022-32205 | 7 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more | 29 Macos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 26 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 4.3 MEDIUM |
A malicious server can serve excessive amounts of `Set-Cookie:` headers in a HTTP response to curl and curl < 7.84.0 stores all of them. A sufficiently large amount of (big) cookies make subsequent HTTP requests to this, or other servers to which the cookies match, create requests that become larger than the threshold that curl uses internally to avoid sending crazy large requests (1048576 bytes) and instead returns an error. This denial state might remain for as long as the same cookies are kept, match and haven't expired. Due to cookie matching rules, a server on `foo.example.com` can set cookies that also would match for `bar.example.com`, making it it possible for a "sister server" to effectively cause a denial of service for a sibling site on the same second level domain using this method.
CVE-2022-32206 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 3 more | 30 Debian Linux, Fedora, Curl and 27 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
curl < 7.84.0 supports "chained" HTTP compression algorithms, meaning that a serverresponse can be compressed multiple times and potentially with different algorithms. The number of acceptable "links" in this "decompression chain" was unbounded, allowing a malicious server to insert a virtually unlimited number of compression steps. The use of such a decompression chain could result in a "malloc bomb", makingcurl end up spending enormous amounts of allocated heap memory, or trying toand returning out of memory errors.
CVE-2023-23916 | 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 2 more | 13 Debian Linux, Fedora, Curl and 10 more | 2024-03-27 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
An allocation of resources without limits or throttling vulnerability exists in curl <v7.88.0 based on the "chained" HTTP compression algorithms, meaning that a server response can be compressed multiple times and potentially with differentalgorithms. The number of acceptable "links" in this "decompression chain" wascapped, but the cap was implemented on a per-header basis allowing a maliciousserver to insert a virtually unlimited number of compression steps simply byusing many headers. The use of such a decompression chain could result in a "malloc bomb", making curl end up spending enormous amounts of allocated heap memory, or trying to and returning out of memory errors.
CVE-2021-28038 | 3 Debian, Linux, Netapp | 4 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Cloud Backup and 1 more | 2024-03-25 | 4.9 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.11.3, as used with Xen PV. A certain part of the netback driver lacks necessary treatment of errors such as failed memory allocations (as a result of changes to the handling of grant mapping errors). A host OS denial of service may occur during misbehavior of a networking frontend driver. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2021-26931.
CVE-2021-26931 | 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux | 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel | 2024-03-25 | 1.9 LOW | 5.5 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel 2.6.39 through 5.10.16, as used in Xen. Block, net, and SCSI backends consider certain errors a plain bug, deliberately causing a kernel crash. For errors potentially being at least under the influence of guests (such as out of memory conditions), it isn't correct to assume a plain bug. Memory allocations potentially causing such crashes occur only when Linux is running in PV mode, though. This affects drivers/block/xen-blkback/blkback.c and drivers/xen/xen-scsiback.c.
CVE-2023-44271 | 2 Fedoraproject, Python | 2 Fedora, Pillow | 2024-03-22 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Pillow before 10.0.0. It is a Denial of Service that uncontrollably allocates memory to process a given task, potentially causing a service to crash by having it run out of memory. This occurs for truetype in ImageFont when textlength in an ImageDraw instance operates on a long text argument.
CVE-2024-26308 | 1 Apache | 1 Commons Compress | 2024-03-21 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in Apache Commons Compress. This issue affects Apache Commons Compress: from 1.21 before 1.26. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.26, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2024-28102 | 2024-03-21 | N/A | 6.8 MEDIUM
JWCrypto implements JWK, JWS, and JWE specifications using python-cryptography. Prior to version 1.5.6, an attacker can cause a denial of service attack by passing in a malicious JWE Token with a high compression ratio. When the server processes this token, it will consume a lot of memory and processing time. Version 1.5.6 fixes this vulnerability by limiting the maximum token length.
CVE-2023-41038 | 2024-03-20 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH
Firebird is a relational database. Versions 4.0.0 through 4.0.3 and version 5.0 beta1 are vulnerable to a server crash when a user uses a specific form of SET BIND statement. Any non-privileged user with minimum access to a server may type a statement with a long `CHAR` length, which causes the server to crash due to stack corruption. Versions 4.0.4.2981 and 5.0.0.117 contain fixes for this issue. No known workarounds are available.
CVE-2021-29725 | 4 Ibm, Linux, Microsoft and 1 more | 6 Aix, Secure External Authentication Server, Sterling Secure Proxy and 3 more | 2024-03-19 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
IBM Secure External Authentication Server 2.4.3.2, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and IBM Secure Proxy 3.4.3.2, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 could allow a remote user to consume resources causing a denial of service due to a resource leak.
CVE-2020-11862 | 2024-03-14 | N/A | 8.6 HIGH
Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in OpenText NetIQ Privileged Account Manager on Linux, Windows, 64 bit allows Flooding. This issue affects NetIQ Privileged Account Manager: before 3.7.0.2.
CVE-2024-1765 | 2024-03-13 | N/A | 5.9 MEDIUM
Cloudflare Quiche (through version 0.19.1/0.20.0) was affected by an unlimited resource allocation vulnerability causing rapid increase of memory usage of the system running quiche server or client. A remote attacker could take advantage of this vulnerability by repeatedly sending an unlimited number of 1-RTT CRYPTO frames after previously completing the QUIC handshake. Exploitation was possible for the duration of the connection which could be extended by the attacker. quiche 0.19.2 and 0.20.1 are the earliest versions containing the fix for this issue.
CVE-2019-5737 | 2 Nodejs, Opensuse | 2 Node.js, Leap | 2024-03-07 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Node.js including 6.x before 6.17.0, 8.x before 8.15.1, 10.x before 10.15.2, and 11.x before 11.10.1, an attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by establishing an HTTP or HTTPS connection in keep-alive mode and by sending headers very slowly. This keeps the connection and associated resources alive for a long period of time. Potential attacks are mitigated by the use of a load balancer or other proxy layer. This vulnerability is an extension of CVE-2018-12121, addressed in November and impacts all active Node.js release lines including 6.x before 6.17.0, 8.x before 8.15.1, 10.x before 10.15.2, and 11.x before 11.10.1.
CVE-2024-23837 | 2024-03-07 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH
LibHTP is a security-aware parser for the HTTP protocol. Crafted traffic can cause excessive processing time of HTTP headers, leading to denial of service. This issue is addressed in 0.5.46.
CVE-2024-23836 | 2024-03-07 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to versions 6.0.16 and 7.0.3, an attacker can craft traffic to cause Suricata to use far more CPU and memory for processing the traffic than needed, which can lead to extreme slow downs and denial of service. This vulnerability is patched in 6.0.16 or 7.0.3. Workarounds include disabling the affected protocol app-layer parser in the yaml and reducing the `stream.reassembly.depth` value helps reduce the severity of the issue.
CVE-2024-23835 | 2024-03-07 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH
Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to version 7.0.3, excessive memory use during pgsql parsing could lead to OOM-related crashes. This vulnerability is patched in 7.0.3. As workaround, users can disable the pgsql app layer parser. |
