| An issue was discovered in FNET through 4.6.4. The code for processing the hop-by-hop header (in the IPv6 extension headers) doesn't check for a valid length of an extension header, and therefore an out-of-bounds read can occur in _fnet_ip6_ext_header_handler_options in fnet_ip6.c, leading to Denial-of-Service. | |||||
| CVE-2020-17467 | 1 Butok | 1 Fnet | 2023-10-12 | 6.4 MEDIUM | 9.1 CRITICAL |
| An issue was discovered in FNET through 4.6.4. The code for processing the hostname from an LLMNR request doesn't check for '\0' termination. Therefore, the deduced length of the hostname doesn't reflect the correct length of the actual data. This may lead to Information Disclosure in _fnet_llmnr_poll in fnet_llmnr.c during a response to a malicious request of the DNS class IN. | |||||
| CVE-2020-24383 | 1 Butok | 1 Fnet | 2023-10-12 | 6.4 MEDIUM | 9.1 CRITICAL |

| CVE-2018-15471 | 3 Canonical, Linux, Xen | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Xen | 2023-10-03 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
| An issue was discovered in xenvif_set_hash_mapping in drivers/net/xen-netback/hash.c in the Linux kernel through 4.18.1, as used in Xen through 4.11.x and other products. The Linux netback driver allows frontends to control mapping of requests to request queues. When processing a request to set or change this mapping, some input validation (e.g., for an integer overflow) was missing or flawed, leading to OOB access in hash handling. A malicious or buggy frontend may cause the (usually privileged) backend to make out of bounds memory accesses, potentially resulting in one or more of privilege escalation, Denial of Service (DoS), or information leaks. | |||||
| CVE-2021-31498 | 1 Opentext | 1 Brava\! Desktop | 2023-10-03 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 3.3 LOW |
| This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of OpenText Brava! Desktop 16.6.3.84. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of DWF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated data structure. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-12744. | |||||

| CVE-2022-20792 | 1 Clamav | 1 Clamav | 2023-10-01 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
| A vulnerability in the regex module used by the signature database load module of Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) versions 0.104.0 through 0.104.2 and LTS version 0.103.5 and prior versions could allow an authenticated, local attacker to crash ClamAV at database load time, and possibly gain code execution. The vulnerability is due to improper bounds checking that may result in a multi-byte heap buffer overwflow write. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by placing a crafted CDB ClamAV signature database file in the ClamAV database directory. An exploit could allow the attacker to run code as the clamav user. | |||||
| CVE-2022-20698 | 3 Canonical, Clamav, Debian | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Clamav, Debian Linux | 2023-10-01 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| A vulnerability in the OOXML parsing module in Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) Software version 0.104.1 and LTS version 0.103.4 and prior versions could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to improper checks that may result in an invalid pointer read. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted OOXML file to an affected device. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause the ClamAV scanning process to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. | |||||
| CVE-2021-4156 | 2 Debian, Libsndfile Project | 2 Debian Linux, Libsndfile | 2023-09-29 | 5.8 MEDIUM | 7.1 HIGH |
| An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in libsndfile's FLAC codec functionality. An attacker who is able to submit a specially crafted file (via tricking a user to open or otherwise) to an application linked with libsndfile and using the FLAC codec, could trigger an out-of-bounds read that would most likely cause a crash but could potentially leak memory information that could be used in further exploitation of other flaws. | |||||
| CVE-2023-41051 | 1 Vm-memory Project | 1 Vm-memory | 2023-09-28 | N/A | 4.7 MEDIUM |
| In a typical Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) there are several components, such as boot loader, virtual device drivers, virtio backend drivers and vhost drivers, that need to access the VM physical memory. The vm-memory rust crate provides a set of traits to decouple VM memory consumers from VM memory providers. An issue was discovered in the default implementations of the `VolatileMemory::{get_atomic_ref, aligned_as_ref, aligned_as_mut, get_ref, get_array_ref}` trait functions, which allows out-of-bounds memory access if the `VolatileMemory::get_slice` function returns a `VolatileSlice` whose length is less than the function’s `count` argument. No implementations of `get_slice` provided in `vm_memory` are affected. Users of custom `VolatileMemory` implementations may be impacted if the custom implementation does not adhere to `get_slice`'s documentation. The issue started in version 0.1.0 but was fixed in version 0.12.2 by inserting a check that verifies that the `VolatileSlice` returned by `get_slice` is of the correct length. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue. | |||||
| CVE-2018-17700 | 2 Foxitsoftware, Microsoft | 3 Phantompdf, Reader, Windows | 2023-09-27 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.8 HIGH |
| This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Foxit PhantomPDF 9.2.0.9297. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of Array.prototype.concat. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-7131. | |||||
| CVE-2023-41910 | 1 Lldpd Project | 1 Lldpd | 2023-09-27 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
| An issue was discovered in lldpd before 1.0.17. By crafting a CDP PDU packet with specific CDP_TLV_ADDRESSES TLVs, a malicious actor can remotely force the lldpd daemon to perform an out-of-bounds read on heap memory. This occurs in cdp_decode in daemon/protocols/cdp.c. | |||||
| CVE-2023-42821 | 1 Gomarkdown | 1 Markdown | 2023-09-26 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| The package `github.com/gomarkdown/markdown` is a Go library for parsing Markdown text and rendering as HTML. Prior to pseudoversion `0.0.0-20230922105210-14b16010c2ee`, which corresponds with commit `14b16010c2ee7ff33a940a541d993bd043a88940`, parsing malformed markdown input with parser that uses parser.Mmark extension could result in out-of-bounds read vulnerability. To exploit the vulnerability, parser needs to have `parser.Mmark` extension set. The panic occurs inside the `citation.go` file on the line 69 when the parser tries to access the element past its length. This can result in a denial of service. Commit `14b16010c2ee7ff33a940a541d993bd043a88940`/pseudoversion `0.0.0-20230922105210-14b16010c2ee` contains a patch for this issue. | |||||
